  • Confidentiality agreement: Everything you say during sessions will be completely confidential, except for when I am required to intervene by law or applicable professional standards (BACP) due to a risk of harm to you or others.

  • GDPR: Any notes kept are held on an encrypted hard drive that no one else has access to other than myself. If requested you may access your records. These will be kept for 12 months and will be deleted. Registered with ICO.

  • Duration of therapy: I offer open ended counselling for as long, or as brief as you need it, however, we will regularly review our therapeutic work and how many sessions may be required, in line with ethical practice (BACP).  Therapeutic work together may be terminated if a client frequently fails to attend planned sessions.

  • Therapeutic Approach: I am a person-centred counsellor (humanistic), which means I do not give behavioural solutions and I do not assume to be an expert on you or your life experiences. I am a qualified and insured therapist who is trained to emotionally support and can journey alongside you as you find your own answers and your own voice.

  • Length of sessions: Each session will last 50 minutes.

  • Location: Sessions can take place over Zoom/Skype and face-to-face at my private practice premises.

  • Professional Supervision: In line with ethical practice of my professional body BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy), I am required to attend monthly supervision to discuss my practice, where anonymised details of my work with clients may be addressed.

  • Recording of sessions for training purposes: If I am undertaking any further training courses, I may be required to record my client sessions for professional feedback and discuss my work with tutors. Your consent to record sessions would always be discussed if applicable.

  • Therapeutic Boundaries: Contact between sessions is limited to making or changing appointments in line with ethical procedures (BACP). Abuse will not be tolerated and may result in therapeutic work being terminated.

  • Payment: I offer each session at £50. Each telephone/video session must be paid upfront when booking to secure an appointment in my diary. 48hrs notice is required for cancellation, for which you will be refunded the full cost of the session. Any cancellations within a 24hr notice period or no shows will result in the full cost being charged, unless discretion.

  • Refund PolicyIn the event that I do not feel I am the right therapist for you I will contact you to discuss and you will receive a full refundIf I am unable to make our session I will contact you to reschedule or you will receive a full refund.
